Razr unveils a new PS5 controller but faces backlash from diehard Sony fans

It looks like Razer is diving head-first into the PS5 controller world with the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro. With a rather chunky design and offset analogue sticks, the Wolverine V2 Pro may not be the best-looking controller out there, but it does have a certain charm to its bulky looks. It does come in white and black, lining up with the PS5 colour scheme. Razer also stated that the controller will come with its own proprietary HyperSPeed Wireless charging tech and will set gamers back by about $250 US. There is no word on an official Indian release.

Razer's Wolverine V2 Pro PS5 controller announced

What the controller does not come with are Adaptive Triggers, an internal speaker and haptic feedback. The absence of these features does knock a few points off the Wolverine V2 PS5 controller. It does come with the touchpad and the basic menu buttons though. To offset the lack of adaptive triggers, Razer has said that the controllers will ship with Hyper Triggers, which essentially lock the triggers at a particular position, giving gamers faster reaction times in FPS games. The controller also comes with 4 remappable buttons at the back, but this just seems like overkill and for the price, it may not be the best choice for Sony fans. This is exactly what happened when Razer announced the controller.

Fans of Sony’s PS5 controller let Razer have it on Twitter. Fans were not keen on the offset analogue sticks and the bulky design, preferring the symmetrical position of the analogue sticks on Sony’s controllers.

Why are they trying to be XBOX? They should've just kept their controller like it was all those years back, ever since the 1990's.

What an ugly controller, offset sticks so I have hand cramps later on in life? Nahhhhh

The Wolverine V2 Pro is also compatible with the PC so if you're looking to replicate the feel and look of the PS5 on your PC, then the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro makes sense. But if you’re a PS5 owner and have used the DualSense controllers, then the Wolverine V2 Pro is not a good fit for you.
